Toddler Program
Ages 18 – 36 Months
Our toddler community at Catskill Montessori School supports the belief that the foundational years before a child is three years old are unlike any other time in their life, and how we care for and support these children is an honor and privilege.
Our authentic Montessori toddler program for children aged 18-36 months old includes:
A home away from home environment
A community of peers and nurturing Montessori guides
A specially created indoor environment to meet their developmental needs
An outdoor environment to support toddlers’ need for movement and connection to nature
Support for becoming toilet-independent, self-feeding, functional independence, and purposeful experiences to set the foundation for life
Half-day Programs
Morning Program: 8:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon Program: 12:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Support for Independent Toileting
We use stand-up diaper changing
Families supply their child with diapers and wipes (no pull-ups at CMS)
We support cloth diapering (all-in-one or all-in-two systems only)
Toddler Prerequisites for CMS
18 months to start
Fully independent walkers
Able to self-feed
Able to drink from a water bottle
Able to communicate with eye contact, some words, gestures, and signs and say the word "no" and shake their head
Respond to questions
